Shikantaza, or objectless meditation.

I began meditating over thirty years ago, because I didn’t know what else to do. My emotions and thoughts were overwhelming and confused. I didn’t have the words to express myself, and I worried things would always be this way.

So, I learned how to meditate.

I learned how to drop into my body when the mind becomes overwhelming.

I learned that the only thing I could count on was change.

I learned that I am not alone.

My current offerings for individuals.

Awaken your practice

Establish a home meditation practice you can stick with

I know that the space between intention and action can last a long time. I have created a practical, hands-on program for people who are new to meditation or returning after some time away. If this is you, check out the Awaken your practice program.

Meditation check-ins

When you need some assistance or guidance

I’ll be the first to admit that my meditation practice can sometimes stress me out. Did I really miss another day this week? I’m just too busy to spend all that time sitting doing nothing!

My practice has withstood my own best efforts to derail it, and I’ve learned a thing or two in the process. Let’s talk about what’s coming up when you sit. I’m solution-focused and practical, with years of experience and a lot of tips.

Let’s sit and talk. Email me for a free 15-minute initial Zoom call or book a session, and let’s sharpen the focus on your practice.

My offerings for groups or teams.

Classes, Workshops, and Executive Mindfulness Training

I am an experienced teacher of subjects ranging from organic chemistry to handicrafts and a seasoned corporate trainer. I’ve worked with medical professionals and people experiencing homelessness. I have studied many forms of meditation and movement. As a clinical social worker, I am attentive, detail-oriented, and supportive.

My teaching is direct, genuine, and carefully considered. There is nothing new-age here, only time-honored teachings and universal practices that benefit you, your team, and the world around us.

Mindfulness Consulting and Content/Program Creation

If you’re working in the wellness or mindfulness space, I can help define your message and help align the project with its spiritual foundation. I’m responsive, with great attention-to-detail, and I’m familiar with common SaaS platforms, communication tools, and asset management systems.

The Glass Essay
by Anne Carson

I took up the practice of meditation.
Each morning I sat on the floor in front of my sofa
and chanted bits of old Latin prayers.

De profundis clamavi ad te Domine.
Each morning a vision came to me.
Gradually I understood that these were naked glimpses of my soul.

I call them Nudes.
Nude #1. Woman alone on a hill.
She stands into the wind.

It is a hard wind slanting from the north.
Long flaps and shreds of flesh rip off the woman's body and lift
and blow away on the wind, leaving

an exposed column of nerve and bone and muscle
calling mutely through lipless mouth.
It pains me to record this,

I am not a melodramatic person.
But soul is “hewn in a wild workshop”
as Charlotte Brontë says of Wuthering Heights.
