Yoga is frequently defined as “union.”
Yoga
The word “yoga” comes from the word yoke, like the wooden beam fastened over two animals and attached to a plow.
Practicing yoga allows us to experience the union of
breath and movement.
body and mind.
the limited self and the divine self.

-
Vinyasa
My primary practice is vinyasa yoga—a flowing style characterized by a breath per movement. Frequently sequences are built around sun salutations. This is an athletic practice that can be quite physically demanding but is taught in a way so as to be suitable for all levels.

Restorative
I have broadened my study of yoga to include restorative practices, and I am pleased to offer restorative yoga to my students. This practice focuses on cultivating relaxation and offering our bodies the gift of deep relaxation. For many of us, relaxing doesn’t come easily, and restorative yoga offers our bodies a chance to rest and renew.
